| SAITO has a lot of commitments to
the provision of "safe" and "secure"
food. In addition, the commitments are all related to
"deliciousness". From now on, SAITO would like
to take care of the "commitments" so that we
can provide our customers with "safe", "secure",
and "delicious" food. |
| |
 |
Securing food safety should start with
the usage of safe materials. Therefore, SAITO adopts "direct-from-the-farm
system". What we directly purchase is as follows:
Japanese cattle with verified backgrounds from pastures
which stick to healthy methods of raising, pastured pigs,
and pastured hens.
As they eat grasses in vast pastures and were brought
up in a stress-free environment, their meat is healthy
and fresh. While internal organs of pastured Japanese
cattle get strong, the meat quality of pastured pigs becomes
fine. Furthermore, there is no bad smell at all. The food
which is truly "safe" and "secure"
does start even at the material stage. |
| |
| Japanese cattle |
They
are raised with feed centered on grasses in a vast
pasture in Mt. Aso in Kyushu. This kind of food
especially makes the internal organs healthy, and
greatly contributes to distinctive features of having
less fat and cholesterol. Also the abundance of
carnitine, peptide, and others helps a lot to keep
men in good shape. |
| Pastured pigs |
Pigs
pastured in the Shinshu District in Nagano Prefecture
exercise a lot freed from stress, and are raised
with self-assorted feed aimed for the healthy internal
organs. The meat quality of pigs whose internal
organs have grown healthy is quite fine with no
bad smell, ending up in delicious meat. |

Healthy meat purchased directly from
pastures is put to develop flavor at superchilling temperature
(temperature which brings the verge of freezing). This
technique not only prevents flavor from going away, but
also draws out the original tastes of the materials without
relying on additives.
Superchilling temperature enables meat to be kept fresh
at a high level, and controls the growing of toxic microorganism.
Also, cells store antifreeze within the range of superchilling
temperature. Free amino acids and sugar included in the
antifreeze are components of the flavor, and play a great
role in producing the delicacies of the season. |

SAITO
never uses any additives such as color formers, preservatives,
and building agents. Our products are all additive-free
and good for your body. (However, only a small amount
of nitrous acid is added to raw ham in order to control
the growth and the decay of bacteria and to promote the
appearance of salty color and flavor.)
Our commitment to additive-free products remains unchanged
with no MSG or additives added since the establishment
of the company, and we have been providing each and every
hand-made product which is safe and delicious. |
| |
 |
| SAITO has technical association with
meisters in Germany, continuing to earnestly produce home-made,
additive-free ham and sausage by means of genuine technique.
As a result, our products are approved by meisters in
Germany and have won the first prize in a number of international
competitions. |
| |
 |
| All good flavor can be damaged due
to freezing. This is because the cells of food are to
be destroyed in the process of freezing. For the purpose
of preventing this damage, SAITO uses a special freezer
called "Dielectric Freezer" so that you can
enjoy taste, flavor, color, brightness, savor, and even
texture in fresh conditions. |
| |
 |
| These commitments are all connected
directly with SAITO's "aspiration" to provide
"safe" and "secure" food. Please try
our additive-free food stuffed with SAITO's "aspiration". |

It
is 100% self-sufficiency that ensures the safety of national
food and enables safety measures to be put into practice.
However, mountainous areas which account for 70% of the
national land in Japan are unused, left as they are as
"abundant resources". In the meantime, land
lying fallow and natural woodlands that coexist with a
nearby populated area are further being wasted.
It is a matter of course that what we eat should be safe.
Developing tasty and quite safe products ought to begin
with healthy livestock products. Most cases see additives
generally used for convenience sake of working processes
or distribution levels. Therefore, SAITO's direct delivery
service to consumers made it to sell additive-free products
at all.
It is more than 30 years since SAITO launched the direct-from-the-farm
system to secure the high-quality materials for domestic
production. On the basis of these high-quality materials,
we process "safe" and "secure" food
to deliver to consumers through our manufacturing and
direct sales system. |

"Value our life", this is
the principle of SAITO. Human beings maintain their life
thanks to other life given to them. To eat and live means
to stay alive blessed with lives of plants and animals
(livestock products) other than human beings. This "Solemn
Rule of Nature" is what the starting point of SAITO
is all about.
Having effectively used up the life given to us to the
end, and taking good care of everything even after its
life is taken, these are SAITO itself. SAITO purchases
Japanese cattle or pigs mainly per head, no part of which
needs to be discarded. SAITO is determined to continue
to pursue "safe" and "secure" food,
while appreciating what is given to us. |
